How to Make Powerful Wedding Wishes

August 25th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

A wedding is a very special occasion. A couple deciding to live together forever till they live. Make a family, with children who may become leaders of tomorrow in their own fields. As the time goes forward, weddings are losing their special place. Who knows when the newly weds will file for divorce? Earlier it was not so simple. Divorces were not looked at as a possibility to be exercised easily. How does one wish a newly wedded couple?

What are wishes? What is the role of wishes in a couple’s life? Why do we wish them a happy life together? Let us examine. The first role of a wish is to join the couple in their happiness. Share the happiness. “Yes, I am very happy for both of you. I feel very happy myself on this beautiful occasion. I wish you a lovely life together. Please enjoy your life together. Fight your battles together and share your fruits of labor together. Please bring new children in this world. Make them happy citizens of a happy world.” We have such thoughts and convey our thoughts to the couple in many words. Sometimes, it so happens that watching everybody wishing the couple, we all become mechanical in our wishes. The warmth gets lost. The words lose the deeper meaning and become more of a ceremony to be finished as soon as possible.

We can avoid this happening. When you attend a wedding next, look at the couple carefully. Imagine their future life together. The children, the middle age, and growing old together till death separates them. Imagine the whole life that they will live together. Imagine the pains and the pleasures of their life. Ignore looking at the decorations, the guests and everything else. Focus only upon the couple and you will find a transformation taking place in your thoughts. After this your wishes will be spoken from the heart and your wishes will truly impact the lives of the couple. Make your wishes help the couple in every way. Hundreds of such heart spoken wishes will bring forward such a change that the couple will surely have a beautiful life. Wishes have power. We may not be able to understand that power. But if wishes are made from the heart, that power can destroy many obstacles. Please use that power, because you have it.

Wedding Cake Suggestions

August 6th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

Today, I am focusing on all those yummy, and don’t forget, beautiful Wedding cakes that I have tasted over the years.

I have taste tested so many wonderful cakes at Weddings over the years and I thought I’d share some ideas and suggestions with you when planning your Wedding and trying too find the most perfect cake. And wait a minute, not just trying to find the perfect cake, but trying to find the mot beautiful and season conscious cakes as well.

First, the yummy part. Cakes are very important at Weddings. People are always so excited for the cake part. Making sure that is taste yummy is equally important, as making sure that it look beautiful. Suggestions go out there, around the city and towns that you live and taste test! Its fun and is most certainly a must. Every baker has his or hers own way and style of baking. Some bakers I’ve noticed tastes a little more salty than others, etc. So taste testing is truly your best option! Not to mention, it’s a blast!!

Another important part of taste testing is that you make sure you get a variety of options. Now, just because you are a chocolate lover and want chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting drizzled in fudge, doesn’t mean everyone loves that too. What I’ve have seen done most at Weddings is the Bride and Groom will make the cake that they cut, just the way they like it, and then on the other tiers, make different flavors like vanilla, lemon, raspberry, strawberry, etc. So make sure that you have a few options, as everyone’s tastes are different.

Another suggestion, add a little funk to your cake! Instead of just having a cake with frosting, have your Baker put something in the middle. Isn’t it just the best when you are eating a doughnut and you bite into it only to discover that its jelly or pudding filled! Jack pot!! That’s the best. So do that with your cake. My most favorite cake I’ve ever had at a Wedding was of course, at my own Wedding. And the guests loved this cake. It was Vanilla cake, but in the center was sugared cream cheese and fresh strawberries. It was to die for! Yummy! And the guests were very pleasantly surprised.

Now to beautifying your cake! This part is very important as well. Photographs and Videos will be taken of this cake and of you and your new spouse cutting the cake and feeding it to each other. Just as you are picture perfect that day, so must your cake be also! Make sure that the colors on your cake coordinate with the colors of your Wedding and please make sure that nothing clashes!

Lastly, flowers. I know your thinking, “Wait! Flowers? Aren’t we talking about Wedding cakes?” Yes, we are. However, fresh flowers are a “must have” on your Wedding cake!! Cake make sure, in an organized way, you put fresh flowers, preferably flowers that match your bouquet. And did you know? There are suck things as eatable flowers?? Yes, its true! Eatable orchids are the yummiest, get the purple ones!

All in all, make sure your Wedding cake is yummy, beautiful and coordinates perfectly. Also, don’t forget to be weather conscious! Chocolate cakes with vanilla ice cream are good for winter, and lighter vanilla types cakes with sorbets are better for the Springs/Summers. Even an Ice Cream cake would be cool and really original!

Whatever you decide, make it wonderful!!

Choosing a Wedding Band

August 6th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

“With this ring I thee wed…”
“I give this ring as a symbol of my Love and devotion”

Most of us dream about marriage from the day we can say, “I love you”. Then when that day finally arrives, the first decisions you will make together is choosing that special and original wedding band, a symbol of your love and commitment. That wedding band says your love will last a lifetime.

First, and most important, in choosing a wedding band, is to choose a wedding band design that you love. Next is to use a jeweler that uses high quality precious metals, and gemstones “But what metal should you choose or which gemstone is the best quality?” This article will show you what to look for in a quality ring, and a quality jewelry website.

Finding a ring and jeweler that fit the above criteria is a little more difficult than it might at first seem. Platinum is made with different types and amounts of alloys. Many websites use gold plate in place of solid gold, or 14k solid gold rather than 18k solid gold. Diamonds come in different colors, cut, clarity, and carat. The established jeweler will have superior sources for precious metals and gemstones. They will also have a lot more experience in all aspects of the jewelry business, including customer service.
The metals:
Most religious marital ceremonies accept wedding bands made of any metal to symbolize your vows. Titanium has become the prudent choice due it’s superior strength, and look. Additionally titanium is beautiful with inlays of gold, platinum, and adorned with diamonds.

Titanium is a very strong lightweight metal. You will hear different opinions on one alloy opposed to another, but they are irrelevant to the strength of a titanium wedding band. Any titanium-alloyed band is well beyond the strength needed for making unbelievably durable wedding bands.

If you desire quality gold jewelry - gold plating, electroplating, or gold overlays should not be considered. These methods have only a thin layer of gold over other metals, the thin layer eventually wears off. Pure Gold is 24K, and because of its softness, it is usually alloyed with base metals like copper, silver, zinc and/or cobalt, to harden thus maximize its use for fine jewelry. Most of the jewelry stores in the US use 14K gold. “What does that mean?” well 14K gold is made of 58.3% 24k gold and 41.7% alloys. For high quality with a deeper color and luster, 18K gold should be used. 18k gold is 75% 24k gold and 25% alloys.

Platinum is a soft metal and must have alloys added to it in order to maximize its use for fine jewelry. Unlike gold it must be 95% pure to still be called platinum. The best alloys for platinum are 3% cobalt, and 2% palladium. Platinum’s natural white luster is unaffected by time. Alloyed properly, platinum has a density and resistance to wear that makes it the most secure, protective metal for setting Diamonds.

The gemstone:
“A girl’s best friend” - diamonds – their very mention makes the heart skip a beat. The word ‘diamond’ comes from the Greek word ‘adamas’ meaning unconquerable, suggesting the eternity of love. It is the most exotic gemstone used for wedding bands. This timeless beautiful gemstone comes in many different varieties. The four areas of importance are Color, Cut, Clarity, and Carat. The most important of these by far is the cut. If you get an ’Excellent Cut’ diamond, with Vs1 - Vs2, G - H in color you will have a stunning diamond that will last a lifetime.

Now that you have the knowledge of the qualities to look for when selecting your wedding band, it’s time to find a quality website. Planning a wedding is usually stressful, shopping via the internet makes it a lot easier. You’ll save time and won’t have to deal with things like the weather, traffic, or pushy salesmen. A quality wedding band website can give you a selection that few mall jewelers can provide.

The appearance of a website is the first thing to look at. Does it look professional? Your first impression is a good guide on his one. Next, ensure that the website doesn’t just buy-and-sell wedding bands; make sure the bands are designed and made by the websites jeweler. This is important, if an adjustment or modification is required, a jeweler is equipped to address these needs.

Make sure the jewelry website offers secure payment methods. A website That accepts credit cards must be approved by the issuing credit card company. PayPal is the leader in online secure payments, but make sure that the website has “secure socket layers”. That means that when you get to the “Check Out” (when payment is made with your credit or debit card) that there is a little picture of a locked-lock in the bottom right hand corner.

A wedding band is the most important piece of jewelry you will ever purchase, so take your time, and research your options.

Have fun choosing your wedding bands, it is a life changing experience! Congratulations!

How to Organize Weddings on the Seashore

August 6th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

What is the most loving weddings you could ever have? You live near the seashore, then you have a wonderful chance to have a magnificent wedding on funds, but you can also make it a complicated event. Anyway, it’s a moment your friends and relatives will remember forever. Objective wedding ceremonies often take place on the coast, frequently on attractive islands. You can get pleasure from beautiful and very romantic locations in such places as Hawaii, Bahamas, Barbados, St. Lucia, and the Cayman Islands. Moreover, beaches are not restricted to islands! Gorgeous shorelines can be chosen and enjoyed in many unusual countries, and they are brilliant places to have a wedding ceremony.

Marriages on the seashore are beautiful in the Mediterranean countries. Just visualize a fixed Greek marriage ceremony or a Spanish celebration after your formal procedure. New Zealand and Australia also have miles of striking beaches that are enormous places for your dedication. That is why, don’t forget about the United States, Mexico, or Canada! If you have a marriage on the beach, you have an unbelievable chance to unite the present with the traditional.

You can have a spiritual or material ceremony in the conventional way, but put on comfy, semi-formal clothe. Usually beach weddings mark brides in rather plain wedding dresses, while grooms dress in their Aloha T-shirts with a couple of shorts or khakis. Some grooms and brides take it even additionally by wearing flowery miniskirts with short tops. Party, rather than being official, sit-down contacts can be relaxed beach gathering, concluded with bonfire pit! So, all you need is to choose if you want a seashore wedding ceremony close to house, or maybe you want a faraway marriage?

Before you make a decision, bear in mind that you’ll need to make tour preparation and housing for your guests. You can often book large building block of accommodations in a close at hand inn, sometimes with cheap charges. If the seashore is in an isolated location, talk to a travel manager about opportunities for airfare for your friends and relatives.

Favourite Wedding Ideas - Wedding Plans Which Guarantee You a Vow of “i Do” Instead of I Don’t

August 4th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

Why dream of the perfect wedding when all you need to do is to say to yourself “I the bride to be shall have the perfect wedding come hell or high water. That’s the spirit girl don’t let anything stand in your way from creating the wedding you dream of. No doubt you have heard it all before but being prepared for any last minute hiccups that could arise from whatever wedding plans you have dreamt of will guarantee your wedding to run smooth.

The wedding to do list can be time consuming but rushing can prove to be costly, not only for your pocket but your health too.

Things like ordering the wedding rings, bridal gown and that of booking the chapel marriage service can be very stressful if you allow it. Take each step at a time, juggling too many tasks at once can have you forget or overload the brain till it functions no more. You need to sit down with your betrothed and share ideas on what you both would like for your wedding. Particular ideas nominated by each other can be eliminated if inappropriate to save money. Lavish weddings can incur debt before carried over the threshold. Grandeur does not make a wedding any better than the next; it is how the whole entity is planned. For instance, if you invite lively fun people who love to dance, then your wedding now becomes more fabulous than the ceremony of grandeur with boring people listening to sombre tunes.

Issues which create the perfect wedding need to be prioritized. Centrepiece, hairstyle and wedding vows.

Your dream of having the perfect wedding can go belly up if little things you feel not important are overlooked at that particular time only to find out how necessary they really are. One is the table centrepiece, a beautiful embellishment that is extremely vital. Classical yet simple wedding centrepieces tend to evolve round flowers and ornaments. Fresh flowers of sweet fragrance fill the air with glorious scent. Silk blooms can be dabbed with aromatherapy oils. Silk flowers can be kept in remembrance of the day. Fresh blossoms can be dried and also kept as a keepsake in your wedding photo album. Remember flowers are seasonal and therefore your choice may have to be shipped in from abroad.

Centrepiece

Other perfect wedding centrepieces are silver candelabras. Floating candles with flower petals in a glass bowl is cost affective and simple to apply. Depending on location of the marriage
centrepieces will differ. If the ceremony takes place in the garden then a nature theme is more fitting to the occasion. Easy to create miniature birdhouses and flower baskets are very affective pieces of beauty. Wedding centrepieces can include juicy fruit - just as sweet smelling as flowers but you get to eat the fruit after and healthier too.

Hairstyle

Bear in mind when making your mind up on how the hair is to be worn is, what suits others may not be the right style for you. Practice makes perfect, try out different hairstyles in the mirror. This will give insight as to whether the hair goes up or stays down. Having the wedding dress easily to hand will make hairstyle selection easier. If the bridal gown is of an off shoulder design then consider wearing your hair down, if the bridal gown has a high neck Victorian type collar then wear the hair up to ooze elegance.

The shape of your face can help determine the right hairstyle. Short hair can be lengthened with hair extensions. Find a stylist and explain what you would like, being a professional the stylist can give advice on what he/she through experience knows of what is best.

Stunning hairstyles are the French twist or plaited braids creatively decorated with woven pearls or jewelled trinkets, rosebuds, feathers and bows .To help emanate romance let the tresses flow. Extensions can give the perfect hairstyle. Make arrangements with the hairdresser to have a practice run it may cost but it will be worthwhile. Bring along your tiara, Juliet cap or wedding veil for the hairdresser to fit at the same time.

Wedding Vows

Why pay for wedding words when you can save a packet by writing your own. Special words come with special meanings and if the person you are ready to marry is special, then who other than you yourself to mix those words with sentiment straight from the heart.

Pre-written wedding vows by a person not known can never express into words what it is you really want to say? Ask a friend to help you with personalizing your wedding vows.

Wedding vows simply explained is where you pledge your undying love till death do us part. This is a special part of all wedding ceremonies where the bride and groom get to say how much they love each other (god forbid if they had a tiff earlier)

Unique ideas denote originality.

1 Why not break with tradition and have the groom walk down the aisle to you or both together - you have to admit it is certainly different.

2 Ask your guests to make a small donation to charity to help those less fortunate than that of receiving a wedding favor.

3 A unique idea that your guests will love. Have a best dressed competition. Print this on the invitation, this will encourage everyone to go out of their way to look great, hence you have a wedding full of well dressed people. Not everyone can be a winner (but you are) because of uniqueness. Have the guests enter the wedding venue via a red carpet. This the guests will never forget while busy telling everyone of their star treatment they were given. So before long the whole world will know how you created the perfect wedding.

Find an Ideal Wedding Dress

August 4th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

They say, “Everything must be beautiful in a person: soul, appearance and mind”. One dress can’t fits all kinds of women. It means that you buy a dress which seems to be the most suitable on your body. Both aspects are important so try to find a dress that suits your body and you will not only look wonderful, but also feel comfy wearing it.

If you have a pear shaped stature which is slighter at the peak and bigger underneath, then you need a big globe dress, it is the perfect decision with an accent on the line of waist and it will center more on the slimmer higher part of body.

Such brides who are tall and thin will look astonishing in a covering dress. Such dresses are appropriate and diminish hardly to the ground. High and skinny brides are the only who can take off such a dress with confidence and fashion.

Globe dresses with a lot of pleats are not the perfect choice for small brides as they are rather huge for a girl of a little build. A dress with plunged line of waist can also ruin the appearance as they look smaller in it. Choose your wedding gown according to your corpse.

Many brides with broad waists look perfect in kingdom dresses that have a tall line of waist. It is often below the line of bust that provides extended healthy kilts. Every bride doesn’t want to look overweight on her big day, so hang about away from ordinary waistline dresses that highlight your waist.

Every designer makes wedding dresses in five essential ways – a sphere dress, the kingdom fashion, a cover and a trip gown.

You can come up to a wedding shop close at hand to you or you can also buy on web. There you can choose any fashion but take into account that each shape greetings special corpse fashions, so first of all decide which fashion is the most satisfying to your exacting shape.

Anniversary: Recollect, Reflect, Redress

August 4th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

‘An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow.’

An anniversary is the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Anniversaries come knocking on our doors, asking us to count our gains and move on. Contrary to popular myth, it is not the time to ponder over your losses and bang your head worrying what went wrong. Most people review their losses and try to learn from the mistakes that they have committed; hardly do we come across someone who savored his achievements, patted himself on the back and told himself, “Well done! Keep it up!” It requires confidence and self-belief and that distinguishes a winner from the also-rans.

Anniversaries could be a birthday anniversary, a marriage anniversary, a death anniversary or the anniversary of any other day between the dates of birth and death. Sometimes the occasion is one of joy, sometimes of regret, sometimes of achievement, sometimes of mourning, sometimes of wonder and sometimes of bitterness. There may be occasions each year when you celebrate the anniversary cursing yourself for having caused it in the first place!

Though an occasion to celebrate, anniversaries can also be moments of reflection and evaluation. If it is a marriage anniversary, couples tend to look back and take note of what worked in their favor and what did not. Some irritating habit of the husband, like throwing a wet towel on the bed after a bath, may have driven the wife up the wall but looking back, that same quirky habit seems like the glue that has kept the channels of communication open between them. There are also happy moments which, on being brought to life in the landscape of the mind, drive away the polluted mist that may have settled down on the relationship.

Birthday anniversaries are not as ambivalent in appeal, unless it happens to be of a person who’s serious and sensitive about life and the shadow of death running parallel to it. On a birthday anniversary you relive the day when you first got a bundle of joy in your arms. Subsequent birthdays remind you that the joy is still around for you, though the umbilical cord is losing its metaphorical attachment with increasing rapidity.

In addition to the two anniversaries which have grown to occupy dominant significance, there are many others which have paled away. Some are so insignificant that they do not find mention in anyone’s almanac. However, the date may not remain with you each year; the experience has not been buried in the sands of time. Do you remember the day you first saw a railway engine? An airplane? Or the first trip to the market holding the little finger of your father? Or the first time you got wet in the rain? Or the first time you held a butterfly in your palm? These can never be a day of the past, though there is no anniversary to remind us of these days. You celebrate their anniversary when you close your eyes and turn the clock back; your bleary eyes make the celebratory applause.

Wedding Sarong: a Beautiful, Exotic and Comfortable Choice

August 4th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Articles

A sarong isn’t just the flowery cotton fringed fabric you are used to seeing at the beach. They have been worn in many cultures around the world for centuries. They are worn for special occasions as well as everyday. They are known by many names, but no matter what you call them, they are gorgeous.

Choosing to wear a wedding sarong to your beach wedding or garden wedding will be a unique and unexpected choice. There are so many different colors, ways to wear them and fabrics available that you have as many choices with a sarong as you do with a traditional wedding gown.

A sarong or pareo can be very informal or be made more formal with the right choices. If you would like a beautiful wedding sarong, choose a 100% silk, hand painted design. By choosing a silk design, you will have a unique and luxurious gown that will flow in the breeze and keep you cool in the heat.

Your wedding dress will be a true reflection of you and what you envision your wedding to be. A good designer can create a design to match you perfectly. You also have the option of creating designs for your entire bridal party, as well.

There are so many benefits, besides being beautiful, to a wedding sarong. They look wonderful on most body types. You can have the fabric cut as large or small as you desire. There are so many different ways to tie them, that you can have a form fitting or loose dress. They can easily be tied above the ankle to stay out of the sand and water.

You won’t need to worry about getting your dress to your destination wedding. Silk travels easily. You can fold your sarong to fit in your luggage and a light pressing will be all that it will need.

If you choose to wear a white gown, you can have it dyed or hand painted after the wedding to use later. This will truly be a gown that can be worn again. Your bridesmaids will love you!

If you are looking for an informal wedding dress, take a look at silk wedding sarongs. You will be surprised with how beautiful, elegant and luxurious they are.

The Most Memorable Gift: a Wedding Story

August 4th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Miscellaneous

Recently, my oldest brother got married and having lived on his own for many years, he had pretty much everything he needed and then some. I was stumped…I love giving gifts, especially meaningful, useful gifts that people really appreciate. So being this kind of person, I had to come up with the perfect gift.

He and his fiancé spent most of their time outdoors and whatever time was left, hanging out with friends and traveling. Every time I would ask what they would like for their wedding, he would tell me he didn’t want anything artsy or decoration for their condo (which was 90% of all my ideas) and like I said, he had pretty much everything else he needed.

After a couple weeks of being stressed about this, I stumbled upon a very creative website that showed off these ‘realistic’ photo products- pillows, bedding, and photo blankets. The blankets were not afghans, but warm comfy, photo-real blankets. That’s when it hit me. The wedding invitations had been full of pictures of the two of them, showing off their favorite things and advertising the weekend wedding celebration. Why not give them not only a beautiful gift that they can use…but a reminder of the all memories they have together. It was perfect, both a practical gift and one that I can design and use my creative skills.

So I got to work putting together a collage of photos with the two of them, all in black and white, some of them rock climbing and hiking, and others of Yosemite, the place where they had met. When the time came to present them with my gift, needless to say, they loved it! Everyone was amazed at the crystal clear photos on the blanket, and the priceless photos of their smiling faces full of love. It truly was the perfect gift…and after much questioning and many requests, I know exactly what to get everyone for Christmas!
