Wedding Rings- Symbol of Love

September 20th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Miscellaneous

I’ll be your dream
I’ll be your wish
I’ll be your fantasy.
I’ll be your hope
I’ll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do…

These lines from the famous song by Savage Garden would truly entice your love on your wedding day dance. A special thing that will promise the endless love is the wedding ring you present. The wedding ring is a symbol your dedicated love and the care you want to give. The ring is to be chosen so as to express your concern but it shouldn’t be too detailed as to eclipse the engagement ring.

The wedding ring is special as it is worn for the rest of your life. Hence it should be carefully chosen. The first thing is to prioritize the type of metal that you want. For men, hard metals are preferred like gold, titanium etc and for girls, white gold, silver and platinum are elegant choices. A wedding ring could be a plain simple ring or can be studded with gems, diamonds or can be designer.

A simple plain gold ring has been in vogue over the years and still continues to be so. Diamond rings are the latest craze and diamond branding has added to its immense popularity. Diamonds are found in different colours and cuts. You can choose the styles as per your budget and need. The latest trend is the titanium wedding rings. They are more durable than gold or silver wedding rings and are thus preferred for men. Titanium can also hold precious gems and diamonds with more durability and hence is a logical option to opt.

Wedding rings can be purchased online with host of websites offering unique designs and styles. All forms of wedding rings are available which can suit varied budgets and requirements. Online jewellery shopping is logical as you can go through thousands of rings and can narrow down on your choice. Selecting a ring online is easier as there are umpteen options available and you can browse through all of them at the same time. You can also compare the rings and know the best one for you. It is important to give you accurate ring size and you should get it measured by a professional. Whatever form of ring or design you take it should be presented with a special vow which will charm your love for life.

The Most Memorable Gift: a Wedding Story

August 4th, 2008 by Orlando LDS Weddings | No Comments | Filed in Miscellaneous

Recently, my oldest brother got married and having lived on his own for many years, he had pretty much everything he needed and then some. I was stumped…I love giving gifts, especially meaningful, useful gifts that people really appreciate. So being this kind of person, I had to come up with the perfect gift.

He and his fiancé spent most of their time outdoors and whatever time was left, hanging out with friends and traveling. Every time I would ask what they would like for their wedding, he would tell me he didn’t want anything artsy or decoration for their condo (which was 90% of all my ideas) and like I said, he had pretty much everything else he needed.

After a couple weeks of being stressed about this, I stumbled upon a very creative website that showed off these ‘realistic’ photo products- pillows, bedding, and photo blankets. The blankets were not afghans, but warm comfy, photo-real blankets. That’s when it hit me. The wedding invitations had been full of pictures of the two of them, showing off their favorite things and advertising the weekend wedding celebration. Why not give them not only a beautiful gift that they can use…but a reminder of the all memories they have together. It was perfect, both a practical gift and one that I can design and use my creative skills.

So I got to work putting together a collage of photos with the two of them, all in black and white, some of them rock climbing and hiking, and others of Yosemite, the place where they had met. When the time came to present them with my gift, needless to say, they loved it! Everyone was amazed at the crystal clear photos on the blanket, and the priceless photos of their smiling faces full of love. It truly was the perfect gift…and after much questioning and many requests, I know exactly what to get everyone for Christmas!
